Whether you’re a sci-fi buff, Star Trek fan, or comedy lover, we can all agree that William Shatner is a household name. But to Kathleen, “Bill” is also her boss—and her longtime friend. Kathleen has worked as Bill’s assistant for 14 years. “She’s on top of all the things I’m doing, with that kind of devotion, loyalty, attention to detail,” he says. “She’s just a terrific human being.” But over the years, he’s seen how unhappy she is with her kitchen. It’s dark, the layout isn’t working, and there’s lots of little pieces that don’t fit together properly. So today on Celebrity IOU, as Captain Kirk would say, they’re going boldly where no man has gone before to gift Kathleen with the kitchen and living space of her dreams.

Kathleen and her husband Jack have lived in their condo for five years. They love their home, but it’s dated and there are things they’d like to change to make it function better. And though Kathleen has a great eye for design, she hasn’t been able to do as much as she wants to with their place. Kathleen and Bill have a shared love of equestrianism, and he knows that she enjoys rustic, natural materials. However, Bill also knows that she doesn’t want the space to feel as dark and dreary as it does now. They’re hoping for a cohesive mix of rustic and modern, with elegant fabrics and finishes to give the space a refresh she’ll love.

A Kitchen Worth Cooking In

This kitchen is almost unrecognizable! Knocking down the part of the wall where the fridge was standing before created a better flow, and removing the soffits made a huge difference in the way that light reflects in the kitchen. A more efficient layout was top priority here, and Drew, Jonathan, and William were able to achieve that and more with the renovations.

Functional Dining That Flows

With the dated mirror wall finally gone, the space already felt brighter and more modern. They were also able to take out a segment of the wall separating the two rooms to better connect the layout and bring in the natural light. They incorporated a banquette and flipped the orientation of the dining table, and that along with a fresh coat of paint and updated lighting resulted in a completely new space.

Living Space Upgrade

Function, flow, and elegant furniture marry to create a home that Kathleen and Jack are eager to enjoy. While new light oak flooring sets the mood for a brighter, more open feel, upgraded fixtures and furniture and a beautiful coat of cream paint only add more softness. Kathleen wanted the space to feel serene and updated without losing the rustic charm she loves, and with the mixed wood tones and natural finishes, they were certainly able to achieve the balance.

Calm, Cozy, and Comfortable

With new lighting and curtains, as well as a full furniture upgrade, Kathleen and Jack’s living room not only feels more inviting and comfortable, but it also showcases their personality more authentically. Family photos hung above the sofa bring a personal touch that was lacking before, while the cozy fabrics and lamps make creating ambiance easy. Kathleen was overjoyed with the reno, and so grateful for William and the Bros’ help. “It’s far superior to what I could have ever imagined,” Kathleen says. “It feels like you really know me and my style.”

You might recognize him from The Mindy Project, The Studio, or even for his stint on MadTV back in the early 2000s. For Ike Barinholtz, the laughs come easy—but what comes even easier is the way he takes care of the ones he loves. Ike and his wife, Erica, met Sonia almost 10 years ago, and since then, they’ve become like family. Ike and Erica’s daughters, Payton, Foster, and Eleanor, all love being around Sonia—and likewise, Sonia and her husband Juan’s children, Gilbert and Charlie, have a great relationship with Ike and Erica.

“She truly is the nicest person I’ve ever met,” Ike says. “She is family now—she’s like a friend, a sister, an aunt—she’s just an absolute beautiful person inside and out.”

Sonia’s home is very important to her, and she wants it to stay in her family for generations to come. In order to help make that happen, Ike is teaming up with Drew and Jonathan on Celebrity IOU this week to gift her with a renovation that will make the house function better and feel warmer. Ike wants to give her home a second life, so it can continue to be a sacred place for her and her family, and improve the quality of their everyday life.

The house was built in 1908, and though the bones are beautiful, the interior needs work. The floor dips, and there are cracks in the tile. The lighting is also subpar, which makes the main living area feel dark and cold. Sonia loves the original character of the home, like the woodwork and the detail. But she wants it to be fixed up and have more modern elements brought in while keeping that historic charm intact.

Dream Kitchen

Ike and Sonia love to cook together. They share recipes and secrets to their dishes. And one of Sonia’s favorite things is cooking for her family. However, her kitchen left much to be desired.

Sonia didn’t want to part with her beautiful fireplace on the opposite side, so instead of breaking down walls, they expanded the footprint width-wise to provide better storage opportunity and easier movement throughout the space. New appliances, two-tone cabinets, and a pass-through to the dining room adds functionality and beauty to create a space she now loves.

Space to Gather for Meals

The new dining set is the perfect place to share meals and stories, with added cabinetry for storage and dinnerware, as well as a fresh facade for the gorgeous original fireplace. With updated lighting and more fitting window treatments, the dining room is now a light and bright hub that will become the perfect spot to gather at the end of a long day.

Serene Living Space for the Family

There were a few things that needed work in the living room. They fixed the foundational issues, and then chose beautiful plank flooring to bring out the charm of the century-old Craftsman. They refreshed the molding and trim as well, and with a brand-new front door that better fits the original style of the home, created an updated feel that makes this the ultimate gathering space. They also brought in comfortable modern furniture to fit the style she loves while enhancing the original beauty of the space.

Mario Lopez joins Drew and Jonathan for a heartfelt episode of Celebrity IOU that was a true testament to love and friendship. Mario and Rod (aka Tuddy—a nickname Mario gave him when they were kids) have been friends for a lifetime. Through it all, they’ve been by each other’s side, celebrating wins and helping through hardships. Tuddy’s wife, Tiffanie, recently went through a medical issue and had to have emergency spine surgery, and it’s taken a toll on their family. Mario wanted to give them a gift that would lift their spirits and make their home feel more functional and beautiful after such a hard time.

Tuddy spends a ton of time in the kitchen—it’s both the cooking space and the dining room with just a two-seat breakfast bar to eat at, and it’s definitely due for an upgrade. Tiffanie also homeschools their three kids in the first floor living area just off the kitchen, so making the space a bit more functional for schooling needs is a high priority on the reno checklist, too. Mario and the Bros want to give Tiff and Tuddy a major upgrade that’ll leave them speechless.

Updated Kitchen Look and Feel

Tuddy and Tiffanie have always wanted their kitchen to have a timeless sophistication to it, while still balancing an aspect of fun. By shimmying the layout a bit to make better use of the layout, the Bros and Mario were able to give them more storage; a larger-looking room (thanks to the soffit removal that raised the ceiling height); and a look that fits their aesthetic.

The Perfect Dual-Purpose Area

The biggest problem Tiff and Tuddy had was storage. With one living space acting as their living room, dining room, and classroom, they were desperate for more. Mario, Drew, and Jonathan turned their walls into an organized haven, with wall-to-wall built-in cabinets and drawers to house everything they need with function and aesthetics in mind. And when class time is over, the room is able to flex as a relaxing living and dining space, with a built-in banquette and comfy seating for shared meals.

Newfound Use of Space

The Bros even turned a looked-over corner into a cozy nook where the kids can read, lounge, or do schoolwork whenever they’d like. Niko, Leo, and Ella now have a comfortable area where they can flush out their creativity or relax right in the shared living space around Mom and Dad.

Eva Longoria played the iconic Gabrielle Solis on Desperate Housewives, Isabella Braña on The Young and the Restless, and was most recently in Season 4 of Only Murders in the Building. She’s been a pillar in TV dramas for years, and this week on Celebrity IOU, she’s surprising her best friend Bonnie with a renovation that will change her entire life.

“I owe Bonnie so much,” Eva says. From braving adulthood together in Los Angeles, to helping one another navigate their careers, to being there for one another as they grew their families, the two have been so important in each other’s lives. But ever since Bonnie had her twins, she and her husband, Adam, just haven’t had the time to focus on renovations. “They’ve never had the time to attack, really, the things that they want to improve on the house,” Eva says. “She’s always going, ‘Oh, one day I wish I could have my dream kitchen…’ This is the day!”

So, while Bonnie was working in New York for four weeks, Eva conspired with Drew, Jonathan, and Bonnie’s husband Adam to surprise her with a dream kitchen. “I’m so happy this is a surprise,” Eva says. “If I told Bonnie I was going to redo her kitchen just as a gift, she would not allow it…This is going to change her life.”

Upgraded, Family-Style Kitchen

The general layout of the kitchen wasn’t the problem—it was everything else. From the odd, two-story island to the janky dishwasher that was never actually installed, to the lack of storage and general dysfunction, this kitchen has been a nightmare for Bonnie and Adam.

So, Eva and the Bros flipped it on its head. They installed brand-new beautiful flooring throughout the entire first floor, replaced the rotting cabinetry and added plenty more storage, and even made room for a second island since Bonnie and Adam love to host.

The oversized double islands will be perfect for hosting dinners, parties, and casual hangs, but they’ll also be convenient for everyday needs, like the kids’ homework and a quick breakfast before school. Ultimately, Eva wanted to make sure that the kitchen was finally turned into the place Bonnie always wanted it to be: a relaxed, modern space that made everyday life feel better. And she certainly has that now! 

Comfortable, Cozy, Contemporary Living

In the living room, they went for a cozy-yet-contemporary vibe to match Bonnie’s aesthetic and create a serene flow from kitchen to living spaces. They replaced the outdated patio doors with modern sliders for a luxe, open-air feel that provides easy access to the yard, and upgraded the sofa to offer maximum relaxation for the family.

He’s America’s favorite uncle from Full House, a soap opera heartthrob, and the drummer for The Beach Boys since 1985. John Stamos has done it all, and this week on Celebrity IOU, he’s adding “demolition extraordinaire” to that list! He wants to gift his childhood best friend of 50 years, Ken, with a new studio that’ll spark his creativity and inspire him to start making music again. So, John called on Drew and Jonathan to get it started.

Ken and John first connected over their shared love of music, but when Ken’s father died, he stopped playing the drums. John hopes that with some help from the Bros, they can create a garage band refresh for Ken that’ll bring back his musical spark and get him doing what he loves most: jamming on the drums. John’s hopeful that with a little creativity (and a couple sledgehammers) they’ll be able to turn his garage into a cool, relaxed studio for Ken and his kids, where they can be creative and relax together. “You guys are dream-makers,” John says. “The world needs more Property Brothers!”

Stunning Studio Space

Ken’s house means the world to him. He grew up there and has always played drums in the space, but it’s definitely seen better days. There’s holes in the walls, it’s not insulated or sound-proofed properly for a studio space, and, as John says, “I’m surprised it’s still standing.”

New luxury vinyl flooring adds the warmth of natural wood without the maintenance, which is especially nice in a garage studio space. With plenty of comfortable furniture, a new drum set, and built-ins galore for his recording gear, John and the Bros made sure that they hit everything on Ken’s wish list.

Room to Lounge

Drew, Jonathan, and John opened up the wall that held an unused workshop space to help expand the square footage. They replaced the worn, unsafe garage doors with a couple of amazing bifold doors that look great, offer insulation, and provide amazing natural light.

They essentially gutted the space and installed updated framing, venting, insulation—the whole nine yards. With brand-new everything, Ken now has an ultra-cool place to lounge, make music, and hang out with his friends and kids.

Relaxing Outdoor Space

Outside, they turned an overgrown area that was hardly usable into a beautiful, serene outdoor space where Ken and his kids could relax. They added a succulent wall, too, which adds ambiance and a calming focal point. 

“John’s always had this thing about him where he could understand what people need and was so happy to give it to them,” Ken says. “I never thought that space would be so integral, but it is. And it’s amazing that he thought of that.”

After 24 seasons of America’s Next Top Model, an Emmy-winning talk show, roles in films like Life Size and Coyote Ugly, plus her success as a supermodel, it’s safe to say Tyra Banks has “smized” her way into becoming a household name. But off the runway, Tyra is also proud of her longstanding friendship with her childhood best friend Marisa. The two have been there for one another through thick and thin since they were 12 years old, and on Celebrity IOU this week, Tyra wants to give back to her in a very special way. She saw how much Marisa has gone through recently after she lost her mom, and Tyra knows Marisa deserves something truly special that won’t just make her feel loved—it’ll change her whole life.

“My memories are of her just being my super best friend in the eighth grade,” Tyra says. “Being inseparable, and feeling such a strong connection with this amazing LA homegirl that talks like the coolest surfer in the world.”

“We just always have that kind of friendship—everything that’s important in our lives, the other one knows about,” Marisa says. “In this world, to have people that you can talk to so honestly and openly and genuinely, it’s truly a blessing.”

Tyra lives in Australia right now, and Marisa is in Los Angeles. But no matter the distance, their friendship is something they both hold close to their hearts. “Whenever I see her, it’s as if we never left,” Tyra says. They haven’t seen each other in three whole years—so, needless to say, when Tyra surprised Marisa at her house with Drew and Jonathan, Marisa was nothing short of shocked! Her 101-year-old house is a gorgeous build, but functionally, it needs a lot of work. The front door doesn’t fully open or close, and she has to shimmy behind the refrigerator to get to her laundry room. Tyra was emotional when she saw the way Marisa has had to live—her heat doesn’t work, she’s had warped floors for years, and it’s something she’s had to deal with every day.

“For her heat to not work all the time? I’m thinking, ‘This is my friend, I grew up with her. And it’s like, her heat is not working? And how come I didn’t know that?’ This is shelter, this is what everybody deserves and not everybody has,” Tyra says.

New Flooring, Lighting, and Ambiance

First thing’s first: We needed to fix that old, warped floor. It wasn’t just a cosmetic issue—it was a structural problem with huge consequences if left unfixed. Beautiful new statement lighting and new window treatments bring in light and make the space feel comfortable and cozy. They also installed a ductless HVAC system for functional heating and cooling that actually works the way it’s supposed to.

Spanish-Style Archways and Designer Dining

The Bros and Tyra decided to separate each space with gorgeous Spanish archways that provide that extra bit of character Marisa loves and fit the house style. Alongside this, they added in a beautiful china display for all of Marisa’s favorite dishware, photographs, and decor. They also included a standout round dining table with comfortable rattan-back seating for friends, family, and guests.

Adding Character and Contrast

Marisa’s home is a gorgeous Craftsman, but it was lacking a lot of the character and beauty that comes with that style of house. So, Drew, Jonathan, and Tyra decided to infuse it back in—with high contrast cabinetry that beautifully complements the Calacatta marble and unlacquered brass fixtures, and a charming custom stained glass.

Organization Meets Beauty and Flow

Some of the main issues in Marisa’s kitchen were the lack of cabinetry and the standalone appliances taking up the very limited counter space. They had to get rid of one of the windows to make it work, but it was a game-changer to have those floor-to-ceiling cabinets for all of Marisa’s cooking supplies. Plus, by adding in that glass door into the backyard, they were able to bring in better natural light and a more functional layout for her laundry room and kitchen.

Jane Seymour, former Bond girl and lead in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, has played plenty of roles in her lifetime. The British actress even changed her name for the stage after an agent told her it’d help her book more roles. (she was born Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg!). But this week on Celebrity IOU, Jane Seymour is taking on a new role with the Bros, to surprise a very dear friend with the backyard oasis of her dreams.

Diana’s daughter Lorena is helping Jane and the Bros surprise Diana with this gorgeous renovation, showing them the pain points in Diana’s backyard. The main issue is the large pergola structure that’s too low, nearly falling apart, and doesn’t provide the space for Diana to host her family’s large dinner parties. She loves cooking for others, but with the way the backyard is set up now, it’s not exactly a walk in the park to make it work. Jane and the Bros want to improve the functionality, as well as the style and overall design, to help give her the outdoor space she deserves.

“She gives back to her family, to her community, all the time,” Jane says, “And she uses her space, and shares it. And I just thought, ‘Wow, it’d be so fantastic to help her.'”

Open, Welcoming, and Beautiful

First thing’s first: They needed to replace the old structure. It was nearly falling apart, and it made the space look cramped and outdated. They raised the roof for a more open feel, and beautified it with a slatted wood ceiling. Now, looking out into the yard, Diana and her loved ones will have their own gorgeous oasis to enjoy on any afternoon, rain or shine.

Home Chef-Inspired Outdoor Kitchen

Made of a marine-grade composite, the outdoor kitchen cabinets imitate a white oak that looks as beautiful as it performs. It can handle the elements, and it beautifully complements the stone countertop. A large grill and all the kitchen accessories she could dream of make this the perfect space for cooking and hosting parties for her family.

Chic and Cozy Seating

Because Diana has such a big family, it was important to include enough seating for everyone to be able to sit back and relax. The Bros and Jane included a beautiful, functional seating area for a post-dinner lounge space that everyone can enjoy. With a retractable roof for shade when they need it, they thought of everything to make this space a dream come true for Diana and her family.

He might have multiple gold medals for his snowboarding skills, but this week, Shaun White is going for his best win yet on Celebrity IOU. He’s teaming up with Drew and Jonathan to surprise his childhood best friend Chase with a home reno that he and his family have been dreaming of since the day they moved into the home.

Shaun and Chase have known each other since elementary school. “He’s been the person I call in the midst of all the craziness and after the Olympics, he’s the one that kind of anchors me to home,” Shaun says. Chase and his wife Kara just had their second baby, Lily, and along with their son Phoenix, the household has grown quite a bit since they first moved in! Shaun wants to surprise them with a kitchen and living room renovation that will help them feel comfortable and cared for as they continue raising their family. Right now, it’s cramped and outdated, and the layout isn’t conducive to their needs.

When Chase and Kara first bought the house, of course, they had to compromise on a couple things. So, in order to be so close to the beach, they had to give up some square footage. They planned to renovate the kitchen for better use of the space—but over the years as they grew their family and all the unexpected twists and turns that come up, they haven’t had a chance to start. That’s why Shaun wants to team up with the Bros. He knows how much it’ll mean to their family, and they deserve it.

More Storage and Upgraded Appliances

Goodbye, cramped kitchen and hello, open space! After knocking down the awkward wall separating the kitchen and living room, the layout immediately felt so much bigger. They were able to take cabinetry and closed storage all across the wall and rearrange the appliance placement for more sensible functionality. They added in a banquette, perfect for early mornings and homework time, and were able to add in better lighting for cooking, too.

Better Layout, Better Flow

Knocking down that wall also gave them plenty of room to reimagine the living room layout. Originally, the sofa was way too far from the TV, and it made the room appear awkward. By fixing the TV and media console against the wall opposite the sliding glass doors, they were able to carve out a place dedicated to entertainment while making better use of the space.

Plenty of Space for Living

Now, there’s plenty of room for lounging, reading, playing, and watching TV while also creating a nice flow from the back doors into the living and kitchen areas. The media station perfectly displays photos and family memorabilia, while a closed storage console discretely hides any cords, controllers, and other TV tech gear.

If you have little ones, you might recognize Josh Gad’s voice for his role as Olaf in the Disney movie Frozen, but this week, he’s making us melt over his studio renovation for a dear friend on Celebrity IOU. Delia is someone who means the world to Josh, not just because of their friendship over the years, but also because of her kindness and generosity to everyone she meets. They’ve known each other since they were 18 years old, and she’s like an aunt to Josh’s children. She’s always been selfless, and Josh wants to do something special for her and gift her a backyard studio that’s both functional and suited to her unique style.

“She never asks for more than she needs,” Josh says. “But she deserves more than she wants.”

Delia and Josh met in college—he was in the acting school, and she was in the design department. And though she got her start in traditional theater design, she does it all, from crafting clothes, to installations, painting, and more. Delia is actually the reason Josh met his wife, actress Ida Darvish—and likewise, Josh is the reason Delia met her husband, Jeff.

The past year was one of the most challenging years for Delia in her life. She suffered a brain aneurysm, and in her time at the hospital, had a miniature stroke. It was scary, not only for her, but for her husband, their two children, and all of her loved ones—Josh included. But she’s come out on the other side, and though she’s still recovering, she’s feeling stronger than ever. So, Josh wants to show her how loved she is by gifting her with a new design studio and backyard entertaining oasis, where she can feel inspired and comfortable.

Creativity Meets Comfort

Delia wanted her studio to match her home’s Spanish Revival style, so Josh, Drew, and Jonathan decided to go with a tile that spoke to that design. Bringing in mauve and terracotta-colored tones helped ground the room and provide a beautiful backdrop to her workspace.

Organized and Functional

Along the walls, they replaced the old storage doors with more functional (and beautiful!) options that matched the rest of the room’s style and provided more organization. Drawers and cabinets line the walls all the way into the back corner, so Delia can make use of every inch of space. 

The Perfect Hosting Spot

Delia and Jeff love to host—between board game and book clubs, family barbecues, and parties for the kids, they make good use of their outdoor space. But prior to the reno, they didn’t have a very functional place to cook, or for guests to unwind and relax. So, they did some landscaping to better carve out their backard entertaining area. They even installed a new state-of-the-art outdoor kitchen complete with a pizza oven and grill, as well as a ton of room for prep.

Space to Relax

Finally, a place for guests to relax and gather in the backyard! Delia and Jeff now have a gorgeous fire pit, plenty of outdoor furniture to withstand the elements, and a beautiful pebbled floor that makes the space look chic and provide that cozy atmosphere they want. This way, they can have all their friends and family over to enjoy each other’s company in comfort.

Joel McHale is joining Drew and Jonathan this week on Celebrity IOU to gift something incredible to one of the most special people in his life. In just three weeks, they’ll turn Blanca’s home into a space that finally works for her, rather than against her.

Joel and Sarah hired Blanca as their housekeeper when Sarah was pregnant with their first son, and Blanca has seen the family through all of life’s moments. “Blanca basically was the only person who popped into my brain for this. She is like our Los Angeles grandmother,” Joel says. “We’ve been here in LA for 24 years and she’s been a part of it for 21.” And Blanca’s daughter Nathalie is almost like their daughter—they went to her plays and her graduations—so the two families have become like one. It’s part of the reason why Joel feels so passionately about gifting Blanca with a beautiful reno. She deserves the world!

Blanca loves taking care of her home—she’s got an eye for design, and she takes pride in keeping her house well-kept and cozy. But for the past few years, she’s been struggling with some back problems, and the space that once worked for her isn’t aligning with her needs anymore. Blanca has had multiple back surgeries, and because she lives alone, it makes it a bit more difficult to get around the house the way she used to. The bathroom and bedroom no longer work for her, and she’s in need of more storage space, too. The bathroom needs to be made safer for her, and her bedroom needs a good update. Enter: Drew, Jonathan, and Joel!

Sometimes, all it takes is some new lighting, a few hung photographs, and a rug refresh to make a space instantly feel more modern, organized, and stylish.

A More Functional Layout

The bathroom before had a wonky random window, a lack of counter space and storage, and was dangerous for Blanca’s back. With a smart reimagining of the layout (and one knocked-down wall later), her bathroom completely transformed. Now, she has more storage space than ever, and the bathroom looks and feels more cohesive.

Added Storage, Added Style

Joel also wanted to prioritize storage space and safety for Blanca. By expanding the bathroom’s square footage, they made the room much more functional. Now, she has plenty of room in the vanity as well as above the toilet for toiletries, bathroom essentials, makeup, hair products, and more.

A Space to Relax

More than anything, your bedroom should be a space you feel relaxed and rejuvenated in. Joel really wanted hers to be luxurious and serene, with plenty of unique touches and functional additions. The result? A sanctuary that spoke to her personality and needs, with upgraded furniture, bedding, and bedroom decor that enhances her style.

Bedroom Built-Ins

For added function and seamless storage, Drew, Jonathan, and Joel created built-ins in the bedroom. They perfectly fit and organize all of Blanca’s must-haves, and offer a place for everything to live in a convenient, accessible zone. A combined wardrobe and drawers with plenty of basket space for scarves, hats, and other accessories make this a total game-changer.

You might know her from her witty main character role in the award-winning drama series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, or perhaps you recognize her as the iconic Lois Lane in the new Superman movie that’s coming out on July 11, 2025. But on this Celebrity IOU, Rachel Brosnahan is stepping into a new role: Gifting her best friend’s parents with a kitchen renovation that is more than deserved—and it absolutely blew them away.

Karlee and Rachel first met at New York University in a Therapy and Theatre class, and they’ve been like sisters ever since. They’ve gone through life’s hardest battles and happiest moments—from Karlee being a bridesmaid in Rachel’s wedding, to the two comforting one another through life’s losses and heartaches. And for as much as Karlee has been pivotal to Rachel’s life, so has Karlee’s family. Her father and stepmother, Ron and Robin, have been two of Rachel’s biggest champions and supporters in her career, and over the past 15 years, have become chosen family.

“They’ve had a really, really difficult last couple years,” Rachel says. “They’ve had enough once-in-a-lifetime health issues for many lifetimes. Thankfully, they’re coming out the other side of this period, and so it feels like the perfect time just to be able to spread a little bit of extra love in the house the way that they do.”

To help them feel the love and support and give back for every time they’ve showed up for her, Rachel is surprising them with a much needed kitchen renovation with the help of Karlee. They want Ron and Robin to have a beautiful new space to host friends and family, make dinners for loved ones, and simply feel more comfortable in.

“This is what’s impressive to me,” Drew says. “It just shows how big a heart you have. I understand somebody giving back to their bestie—but you’re not just giving back to your bestie. You’re giving back to your bestie’s parents—that’s pretty cool.”

Open, Modern Dining

Before the renovation, Ron and Robin’s dining room needed something to make it a little more light, bright, and beautiful. The mismatched dining table set and the dull lighting didn’t feel welcoming or cozy. So, with a few simple touches—like a new chandelier, neutral curtains, a beautiful new table, and a complementary area rug, the dining space ended up completely transforming into an inviting room worth hosting in.

Open Spaces and Touches of Color

Knocking down the wall was exactly what this space needed to visually come together. It didn’t just help the dining room become more part of the kitchen—it also helped the whole layout feel bigger. They were able to get a full-sized island into the space, complete with cozy breakfast bar seating and storage. And because the two windows can now let light into the same room, everything feels brighter. 

New Built-Ins and Plenty of Storage

The dramatic pop of color in the range and unique design in the island and built-ins is exactly what Ron and Robin wanted—stylish additions that embrace their personality.

“It was really fun to figure out how to retain the spirit of the space, but also give it the kind of update that you guys deserve,” Rachel says.

Lighting, Paint, and a Little TLC

In revealing the final look to Ron and Robin, everyone was filled with joy and emotion.

“It feels like an exhale in here now,” Karlee says.

From the butcher block on the island to the open floor plan and the stylish panel-ready appliances, Ron and Robin couldn’t stop smiling at the touches that Rachel and the Bros brought into their new space.

“It’s so thoughtfully done,” Robin says.

You may know her from NBC’s sketch comedy show Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In; her starring roles in movies like Overboard, Cactus Flower, and The First Wives Club; or her directorial debut in Hope. But this week, Hollywood royalty and Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn is joining Drew and Jonathan on Celebrity IOU to gift her longtime friend and chosen family Celia with the kitchen she’s dreamed of forever.

For 45 years, Celia has been Goldie’s rock. Through thick and thin, these two have seen so many stages of life together. When Goldie met Celia, Goldie was recently divorced and her daughter, Kate Hudson, was only 18 months old. It was a hard time in her life—always on set for a movie, going through heartbreak—and she needed someone to help take care of the house. Celia was her saving grace.

Goldie says, “Now this is who she was—she protected the kids, she protected me—and then my mom got sick, and then she protected my mother. She decorated her room…and took her to the doctor. In fact, she was right there when Mommy died.”

Celia is a caring person who has always been there for Goldie, both in times of need and times of joy, and Goldie wants to give back to her with a gift that will change her life. “The thing is that I’ve built my houses, I’ve decorated my houses—and then I get to do this for Celia, who is the angel of my life,” Goldie says.

Celia cooks for family and friends, and she needs more room for her big dinner parties. Goldie also wants the space to feel more open and brighter; a cozy, warm place that Celia can enjoy for years to come with her family and friends.

“Ultimately, what we want to do is going to change the whole feeling of her house, because we live in the kitchen in the morning, in the night; and we also live in our family room,” Goldie says.

And wow—Goldie and the Bros certainly accomplished that! They knocked down the half-wall that was disrupting the flow from the kitchen into the living room, and the space came to life. Now, there is a seamless transition into both spaces, so when Celia entertains, she’ll feel more connected with her guests.

Ample Storage

They tore out the old island and replaced it with a gorgeous black porcelain countertop island with plenty of large drawers for kitchen storage. New appliances and two-tone cabinetry provided a practical but beautiful touch to the overall look, especially in conjunction with the mid-tone engineered oak hardwood floors. They also raised the height of the ceiling (by almost six inches!) which made a world of difference to make the room look and feel more open.

Updated Dining

An open space for barstools beneath the island and an updated breakfast nook, equipped with a bay window banquette and modern lighting, finished off the look. You can see how much of a difference this made to the room’s structure and flow. Now, Celia has ample space to cook and enjoy her loved ones’ company.

Cozy Living Space

Goldie, Drew, and Jonathan finished off the open concept kitchen and living room space with a beautifully renovated family room. Plush seating, neutral-toned accessories, and that mid-toned flooring made a huge impact in the room’s ambiance. It’s far more calming now—the perfect place to unwind and relax together.
