Drew and Linda are parents to two little toddlers, Parker and Piper. So having the right organization tools is essential for them to manage their busy family life—especially in the kitchen. It’s the heart of the home, which also means it’s where things can get the most chaotic. If you have a little sous chef running around, too, then you need some kid-friendly kitchen hacks to make sure the space works for them and their tiny hands. That’s why Drew is here with his best tips for keeping your cooking area a safe and fun place for every member of the family.

The kitchen shouldn’t feel dangerous or off-limits to your tots—everyone should feel comfortable cooking, cleaning, and connecting with one another. And as parents, this means you want to make sure you’re taking precautions for your kiddos where you can! Drew is taking us through the simple additions he and Linda have made in their kitchen to make it an organized zone that everyone can enjoy. Watch the full video above to find out exactly what he swears by in their cooking space, and get more ideas below, too.

1. Use Double-Duty Furniture

It’s easy for the amount of kids’ stuff to accumulate—before you know it, it can feel like there’s no room for anything else! That’s why double-duty kids furniture is so great. Drew has a fun piece that Parker and Piper love that can transform from a step stool into a toddlers’ table in seconds, snapping into place with locks to ensure safety. It’s simple, smart solutions like these that help a ton on organization and space-saving.

2. Incorporate Playful and Educational Pieces

Playful and educational touches—like letter and number magnets on the fridge or setting up an easel where the kids can practice writing—can help foster an environment where tots feel welcome hanging out alongside you in the kitchen. After all, it’s the heart of the home, and it’s a place for them, too!

3. Consider an Induction Range

Induction ranges offer an added layer of safety since they don’t get hot to the touch like gas ranges do. And for those tiny hands you love, that means one less thing to worry about when they’re helping you in the kitchen.

4. Add Safety Features Like Straps & Locks

One thing about kids and toddlers? They sure are curious! Adding simple safety straps to the oven and cabinets, and any other places that you don’t want your little ones rummaging through, can help keep them safe from accidents and prevent any let’s-empty-the-entire-drawer-of-cooking-utensils parties.

5. Avoid Mess With Hands-Free Hacks

Going hands-free in a messy zone can really help cut back on the ick and stick that can come from cooking (especially with kids!). In Drew’s home, they installed a little mechanism that will open up the cabinet garbage just by pushing in on the door. Nothing fancy here—just a little arm installed behind the cabinet door and voilà, you have yourself a hands-free setup!

6. Put Family Schedules on Display

It’s easier to keep track of your busy schedules when they’re all up on the wall for quick reference! In Drew’s house, they use a large digital calendar that has everything they and their team needs to get through the day, from schedule changes to pickup times, meals, travel dates, and even when the little ones need to brush their teeth.

7. Make the Pantry Work for Everyone

…Yes, including the kiddos! When they’re helping you cook, clean, or put away groceries, they need to get into these zones, too. So simple additions, like pull-out drawers in the pantry or a step stool under the sink, can give them the confidence to move around these spaces and help out.

8. Label Drawers & Containers

In the pantry, a label-maker is pretty much a must. (Jonathan and Zooey use one in their kitchen pantry too!) This way, it’s easier for everyone in the house to know exactly where ingredients, snacks, and canned goods live, and grab them quickly without having to rip apart the whole cabinet.

7 Adorable Kids’ Bedroom Ideas from Our Shows

These ideas will open up a world of imagination.

Between Jonathan and Zooey’s new New York City apartment and Drew keeping up with his and Linda’s two rambunctious toddlers, the Bros have been busier than ever—and they’re not stopping now! That’s right, the duo is back with a brand-new show, and it’s airing soon. On March 15, expect to see Drew and Jonathan back on your screens in Property Brothers: Under Pressure. The series will premiere on HGTV, and the 14-episodes will follow the Bros as they help homebuyers make big decisions that will ultimately change their lives.

“Our buyers want the perfect house in the ideal location, but many times Jonathan and I have to counsel them on how to best stretch their dollar in this competitive real estate market,” Drew says. “It can be hard to find something move-in ready, which is why we look for the diamond in the rough that we can turn into an amazing home with the right renovation.”

Whether they’re weary of the commitment, in need of a pro to help them make the most informed decisions, or grappling with the big-ticket purchase, these homebuyers are searching for expert advice—and that’s why Drew and Jonathan are there to help. After navigating the ins and outs of home buying, the Bros will then help them through the process of renovation: offering advice to incorporate stylish, smart design solutions, and how to keep it all on budget. Every step of the way, expect to see Drew and Jonathan find creative fixes for the most tasking renovation woes, so these owners can finally settle into a home that’s functional, beautiful, and fitted for their families.

When does Property Brothers: Under Pressure premiere?

The new series premieres Sunday, March 15, at 9:00 pm ET/PT.

How many episodes are in the first season?

The first season will have 14 episodes.

What is Property Brothers: Under Pressure about?

In their new show, Drew and Jonathan help worried buyers make confident, informed decisions on the biggest purchase of their lives: a home. Drew and Jonathan will help guide families through the entire buying process—navigating some of the most competitive markets to date; the sticker shock (and the unexpected costs) becoming a reality; realistic personal wish lists and harsh compromises; and the emotional and financial impact. After the home is purchased, the Bros then help these clients incorporate functional design and explore renovation ideas within budget to help them create a dream home.

Where can I stream the show?

You can watch Property Brothers: Under Pressure on HGTV, or stream it on HBO Max or Discovery+.

What’s the premiere episode about?

In the new series premiere, Drew and Jonathan help AJ and Carin—empty nesters who lost everything in the devastating Eaton fire. They’re asking the Bros for help to find their next home and make a fresh start after tragedy. During the process of house hunting, though, they’re met with discouragement: They get outbid on a dream turn-key house.

“We’re very honest and upfront with clients about how challenging the house hunt can be,” Jonathan says. “We encourage them to see past a home’s current state and envision its untapped potential, which can be tough. But when the ideal property pops up, they’ve got to be ready to make an offer and then trust us to create a design that fits their family’s needs.”

Once they finally score a winning price on a property with a detached rental unit, the Bros help AJ and Carin plan out some much-needed updates to turn it into a home they’ll love, like a thoughtfully designed office, an overhaul on the rental unit that includes a kitchenette, a beautifully-tiled bathroom shower, wall-to-wall storage in the bedroom, and a host’s dream backyard, complete with an outdoor kitchen and stylish seating.

What can I stream in the meantime?

You don’t have to wait for their new show to come out in order to get your Bro fix. Drew and Linda have been busy decorating their house for the holidays with their little ones, Parker and Piper. And together as a family, they’ve turned their home into a nostalgic Christmas wonderland filled with beautiful handmade ornaments, decorations made by local artists, and vintage-inspired DIY decor to create a magical holiday home that feels as cozy as a cup of hot cocoa.

Today, they’re gifting us with a special holiday treat: a tour of their cheerful space! They took arts and crafts scraps and turned them into a beautiful handmade collage of Christmas decor that feels curated, warm, and personal. From their Christmas tree delightfully trimmed with handmade ornaments made by Parker, Piper and their cousins; to felted pieces that Linda crafted herself; to their creative advent-ure calendar wall strung with velvet bows and ribbons, Drew and Linda’s house puts the North Pole to shame.

You can watch the full video above to see all the details, but we’re unwrapping more of the details below, too.

Linda’s Creative Advent Calendar Wall

Linda took their built-in shelves and turned them into a full-wall DIY advent calendar, complete with festive cubbies filled with Christmas boxes and bows for each day of December. Inside, the little ones can find fun little books, hand-crafted pieces, nutcrackers, Elves on the Shelf, and more cute, festive surprises. “I love that Linda just completely curates this out of what we can find around the house,” Drew says.

From their Christmas tree beautifully trimmed with handmade ornaments made by Parker, Piper and their cousins; to felted pieces that Linda crafted herself; to their creative advent-ure calendar wall strung with velvet bows and ribbons, Drew and Linda’s house puts the North Pole to shame!

The Wonderous Ceiling Christmas Train

A big showstopper is the Christmas train that runs around the ceiling of the living room. Parker and Piper both love trains, and it’s become a mainstay in their holiday decor. Drew and Parker even made a tradition of going to the train store around Christmas. This year, they bought two new train cars to hitch on. It took a bit of work and creativity to make their ceiling train idea come to fruition, but it’s become a standout Christmas decoration in their home that everyone loves.

“Everyone who walks in here, whether you’re 3 years old or you’re 80 years old, stops and gives a big, ‘Wow,’ when they see the train running around the ceiling,” Drew says.

Drew and Linda’s DIY Holiday Decoration Ideas

Homemade Ornaments

“A lot of the ornaments throughout have been handmade,” Drew says. Parker and Piper hung their adorable salt dough ornaments, and Linda even felted some of our favorite holiday characters (like the Abominable Snowman from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer!)

Repurposed Holiday Cards

“We save all the old holiday cards and we actually just cut them up into strips,” he says, “And then with the kids we actually tape them together and create long ring garland that we just put throughout the house. We love crafting in this house!”

Decorate With Leftover Ribbon

“We’re taking arts and crafts scraps and turning it into what we can,” Drew says. Linda uses ribbon scraps and pompoms to make bows to hang alongside the Christmas stockings, on their advent calendar wall, and throughout the house on garland and other decorations.

Look Back at Their 2024 Christmas Decorations

Sweet vintage-inspired stockings and a charming Christmas tree full of bows made Drew and Linda’s holiday home come to life. You can also take a peek at their handmade Christmas ornaments and adorable Baby’s first Christmas ornament for Piper.

We know Parker loves his trains, so the advent calendar train was a huge hit! He could play with all the sweet advent boxes, hide little goodies in the compartments, and of course, play trains with his little sister. It was a simple but extra-special way to combine something he loves with the holiday spirit.

No, you’re not dreaming! New episodes of Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers are coming to your TV screens soon—and just in time for your winter break. The first of eight new episodes of Don’t Hate Your House will premiere Monday, December 29 at 8:00 pm ET/PT on HGTV. Think of it as a holiday gift from Drew and Jonathan!

Sometimes, moving just isn’t an option. So instead of chucking it and starting all over again with a new place, Drew and Jonathan are helping families fine-tune their homes to fit their needs—rather than the other way around. Whether it’s families who have outgrown their spaces; couples who have all but given up hope on making their home fit their style; or bad design that has left folks frustrated for years, the Bros are coming in to relieve their woes, and turn their troublesome spaces into dream homes.

When does Don’t Hate Your House premiere?

The first new episode of Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers will premiere on Monday, December 29 at 8:00 pm ET/PT. The show will air on HGTV, as well as MAX and discovery+. Each of the eight new episodes will air at the same time every Monday.

What can we look forward to in the new episodes?

The Bros will help families renovate their houses, transforming spaces that seem completely unfixable into shockingly gorgeous (and finally functional) homes. Sometimes, moving just isn’t an option… No matter how much your place is stressing you out. So, Drew and Jonathan are coming in to help fix problematic homes for frustrated families who are nearly ready to call it quits.

“We get the frustration because oftentimes the original layout found in older houses doesn’t make the best use of the space,” Jonathan says. “Drew and I know we can make these homes so much better.”

What is Don’t Hate Your House about?

The eight-episode run will follow Drew and Jonathan as they meet with their clients to discuss what’s upsetting them most about their homes. From there, they’ll come up with a plan to tackle these issues and craft a new space to address their clients’ needs and wants. With a range of budgets, design preferences, and structural issues to fix, in each episode the Bros will be tearing down walls, reconfiguring kitchens, rebuilding unsafe problem areas, and a whole lot more.

“We see the potential when we walk in and find boxy layouts and isolated spaces,” Drew says. “Transforming a home to truly suit a family’s needs will create a better environment and happier home life for everyone.”

Of course, a home is still a home, no matter how bad the build. Along the way, Drew and Jonathan will also help families through the emotional process, providing encouragement as they help renovate spaces that might hold a soft space in their heart, carry family memories, or hold sentimental value.

A Sneak Peek at the First Episode

The premiere episode will follow Warren and Tricia, a couple with a poorly renovated house that’s neither safe nor functional for their family. Their cramped layout has been bothering them for too long. With a narrow galley kitchen that’s tough to work in, a front door that hits right into their dining table, and a ton of surprise structural issues, this home has become a burden.

The Bros certainly have their work cut out for them, but with some elbow grease, functional fixes, and a ton of creative planning to restructure the home, they’re able to give Warren and Tricia a place that finally feels like home. After they’ve worked their magic, the family will have a brand-new kitchen with a large island and plenty of storage, a coffee bar and dining room with space to spare, and even an outdoor living space perfect for entertaining.

Until the new episodes premiere, you can catch up on the last batch of episodes, and all of the Bros’ other shows on MAX and discovery+. Get inspired by our recaps for Backed By The BrosProperty Brothers: Forever HomeBrother vs. Brother, and Celebrity IOU, too.

This Season’s Celebrity IOU Stars

Get ready for some out-of-this-world talent! (Pun intended.) Here’s who’s on the new season of Celebrity IOU:

Inside the Premiere Episode

He and the Bros pay a visit to John’s high school best friend Ken to gift him a stunning garage and patio makeover. While the two were growing up together, they connected over their shared passion for music, magic, and photography. But when Ken’s father passed away, he stopped making music. John wants to reignite Ken’s inspiration for music and art with a beautiful new space to create songs and connect with family.

So together, Drew, Jonathan, and John will tear down Ken’s old garage and rebuild the space into a modern retreat, complete with new drums, a gorgeous workstation, and comfortable lounge seating—not to mention, an ambient patio with a sleek wood-slat succulent wall and cozy fire pit.

With over 30 years of renovations under their tool belts, it’s safe to say Drew and Jonathan have learned a thing or two along the way. From silly mistakes they made when they were first getting started to home renovation tips that you’d only know by doing a job a thousand times over, they’ve seen it all. And you’re in luck, because they’re spilling their most important knowledge with all of you!

They’re giving you decades’ worth of wisdom inside one 10-minute video, so you can set yourself up for success instead of having to learn the hard way. They’re sharing pro tips to keep your projects on track with your partner, helpful things to consider when you’re debating trends, where to best focus your budget, how to find the balance between functionality and aesthetic, and more. Basically, Drew and Jonathan are letting you into their world so you can go into your next project with confidence. Here are some of our favorite takeaways:

Lesson 1: Roll With the Punches

When it comes to home renovations, it’s pretty much a given that something about the project won’t go to plan. But you have to learn to roll with the punches and keep pivoting, even when it gets frustrating. “Complaining is like a rocking chair: It gives you something to do but it doesn’t get you anywhere,” Drew says. So let it slide off your back, and keep going. You got this!

Lesson 2: Measuring Matters

We’ve heard them say it before: measure twice, cut once. But there’s really no such thing as over-measuring, especially with home projects. So if you have to measure three, four, five times before you feel confident, then do it! Materials can be expensive, and time is money. Save yourself the hassle of having to do the same job twice because you didn’t measure correctly the first time.

Lesson 3: Keep Track of Your To-Do List

“Staying organized is key, because the more disorganized you become, the more expensive your project will get,” Jonathan says. If you’re working with a partner, make a shared note on your phone so that you’re on the same page and not doubling up on supplies or projects. Sometimes, you’ll both have ideas that you want to accomplish, so keeping a shared log of all your to-dos, wish lists, and completed tasks will keep you both in the loop.

Lesson 4: Don’t Underestimate the Size of a Project

“If you’re trying to get a renovation done on, say a bathroom, and you’re trying to spend no more than $20,000 on everything—fixtures, everything in your bathroom—but you want to get it done within a one-month period, it costs a lot more,” Drew says. “Because you’re having to bring in more trades, and more people to do the work.” Be realistic with your budget, your abilities, and your timeline. It’ll save you in the end.

Lesson 5: Be Careful Using Trends

Jonathan makes an important note here: The bolder the trend, the faster it will go out of style. So keep this in mind when you’re working on big, expensive renovations. If you want to go bold with some of your design choices, they recommend sticking to decor, linens, or easily changeable pieces that won’t force commitment.

Lesson 6: Trust Your Gut

If something doesn’t feel right, then always listen to that feeling. Whether it’s about the person you’re hiring for the job; a big design decision that’s making you uneasy; or the amount of money you’re putting into the project—home renos can be huge asks, and you should listen to your intuition when something feels off. So if your contractor is acting shady or your quote doesn’t seem right, then you have every right to pump the brakes and find a different solution.

Lesson 7: Function Over Fancy

“You don’t have to just put something in that looks pretty—in fact, you shouldn’t,” Drew says, “Because if it doesn’t function for how your family needs, or what you need within your house, then it’s useless.” They see it all the time: Folks ripping out an old kitchen and replacing it with beautiful materials, but in the same dysfunctional layout. “At the end of the day, all you have are new products in a terrible kitchen that won’t work,” he adds. Balance is key here. Be intentional with the functionality first, and then bring in the materials that fit your aesthetic.

Lesson 8: Splurge When Appropriate

“I have had a lot of situations over the years where there’s something I thought, ‘Should I do it? Should I not do it?’ And I didn’t do it, and then after the fact, it ended up costing so much more money,” Jonathan says. So if there’s something you’re dreaming to include in your home, it might be worth it to splurge now or saving up to do it in the future, rather than finding a quick fix that you’ll end up having to replace for even more money down the line.

The Bros are back with a new way to transform your home!

Drew and Jonathan recently teamed up with Wood Veneer Hub to create a collection that’s truly special: Modern wood veneer paneling that doesn’t just catch the eye, but also helps the functionality of your space. With great craftsmanship and simple installation, you can achieve tons of interesting designs with wood paneling, such as wainscoting, feature walls, and more. Our Drew & Jonathan Home x WVH collection makes seemingly complex wood wall styling easier than ever, with high quality panels that you can install just about anywhere.

“Every surface in your home should tell a story. These panels make it simple to add depth, warmth, and personality to any space,” Drew says.

Their stylish paneling works to bring high design into your home with easy setup at a great price. So both the everyday DIY home enthusiast and the experienced tradesperson can achieve an elevated look without breaking the bank or investing countless hours of installation. Plus, these panels are designed to help dampen sound, which can make a huge difference in your home.

Why Wood Veneer Paneling?

According to Drew and Jonathan, “Design isn’t just about how a space looks—it’s about how it feels. Wood paneling creates that feeling of warmth and balance that makes a house feel like home.”

In short, veneer paneling is your one-way ticket to crafting an interior space that looks chic with minimal effort involved. In the same way wallpaper can bring personality to your interiors, wood paneling can also add that extra splash of style you might be missing.

“Walls are one of the most overlooked opportunities in design. WVH’s craftsmanship and innovation helped us create a collection that feels elevated, natural, and completely livable,” Jonathan says.

Behind the Design With Wood Veneer Hub

“By combining our surface design expertise with Drew and Jonathan’s creative vision, we’re showing how wood can add warmth and character to any modern home or project,” says Wood Veneer Hub CEO Aaron Eisenberg.

Installation is simple and straightforward: Simply measure your area, cut the panel down to size, treat with a finishing oil, and attach to the wall using a drill. You can customize the panels easily, too, so whatever you have dreamed up for your space, it’s just one simple tweak away. Cut the panels to come halfway up the wall for a wainscoting look; go floor-to-ceiling for a statement wall; or get creative and use them to conceal a door for an easy take on a secret entrance. You can install the veneer panels on any interior surface, too—brick, concrete, plasterboard—so you’re not limited in your design options.

Did you catch Drew and Jonathan’s Halloween decorations in 2024? There were definitely some tricks… And a whole lot of treats! To celebrate the unofficial start of spooky season—it’s finally October, after all—the Bros are taking a look back at their Halloween parties, their epic costumes, and all the finishing touches that made their outdoor Halloween decorations so spectacular last year.

They went all-out on just about everything they could to make the day magical for friends, family, and neighbors. From Jonathan’s scary animatronics in his backyard haunted houses to Drew’s Halloween light display that wowed, the Bros took Halloween to the next level! Today, they’re looking back at some of their most exciting moments from their monster mash. Watch the full video to get the scoop on all the details, including decorating tips, Halloween costume insight, and a bewitching hack for kids looking to trade in their Halloween candy for something even sweeter.

Jonathan’s Eerie Haunted House

When Jonathan and Zooey were planning their Halloween party for the kids, they wanted to make it a ton of fun for the little ones and their parents, too. They set up a spooky haunted house in the backyard with different zones inside—an Addams family area in the front with cobwebs and LED candlelight; mummies and ghostly figures in the back; a creepy carnival with sinister clowns; a mad scientist lab; and more. It was just enough frightening and fun.

Lights and Projections for a Spooky Display

Both Drew and Jonathan took their outdoor light displays to another level. Jonathan has more trees around his house, so he used smart lights from Twinkly to display an array of Halloween colors like purple and orange that danced around in a fun pattern. That way, when Halloween is over or it’s finally time for the winter holidays, he can change the lights to display whatever pattern or color he wants right off his phone, so he never even has to take the string lights down. Hello, decor hack!

“You had lights, but I had killer projections,” Drew says to Jonathan. We can’t argue with that! Drew used a system that mapped the front of his house and created a custom Halloween light display based off the architectural features. You could see monsters coming in and out of the windows, creepy crawly spiders along the facade, a haunted forest with lightening, and so much more.

The Very Best Halloween Costumes

We know they’ve have had some incredible Halloween costumes over the years, but it’ll be hard to beat the 2024 ensembles from Drew and Jonathan! Drew, Linda, Parker, and Piper dressed up as characters from Where the Wild Things Are, with Parker as Max; Piper as a mini Max (adorable!); and Drew and Linda as a couple of the wild things. Jonathan and Zooey don’t always go as a typical couples costume, and oftentimes choose their own outfits or funny characters to dress up as for an unlikely duo! In 2024, Jonathan went as Wolverine (complete with an incredible styling team that did his hair, makeup, and a custom suit), and Zooey went as Angie from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City (iconic!).

Have You Heard of the Switch Witch?

If you know the Tooth Fairy, then you should know about her long-lost cousin, the Switch Witch. The Switch Witch is a witch who comes in the middle of the night on Halloween and swaps out all the kids’ candy for one toy that they really want. The little ones get to decide what they’d rather get—all they have to do is leave a note for the Switch Witch with their request.

For all the spooky fun, watch the video above and subscribe to our YouTube for more holiday tips and tricks.

We love decorating for Halloween, but we also love dressing up for it. And if you know anything about Drew and Jonathan, you know they take their Halloween costumes seriously. Ever since they were kids, the Bros have been conjuring up creative costumes that range from funny DIY costumes to last-minute characters with the family and even cute couples costumes with Zooey and Linda. From the time they were little, the Scott family always had a blast making spooky season fun for everyone.

With so many characters, costumes, duos, and DIY Halloween ensembles they’ve done, we figured it’s only right if we put together a montage of their very best looks! Take a look back through the years with the Bros in their signature spooky Halloween style, from clowns to superheroes; zombies to ninjas; Star Wars characters to reality TV stars, and everything in-between.

01

Medieval Knight and Steampunk

A set of twins walk into a Halloween costume shop… And walk out as a medieval knight and a steampunk? This one might not have made it out of the store, but it sure did call for an epic photo op!

02

Bane and Honey Boo Boo

Once upon a time, the Bros found themselves in a wig and a bald cap for Halloween—with Drew as Honey Boo Boo (remember Toddlers & Tiaras?!) and Jonathan as Bane from The Dark Knight Rises.

03
