For Jonathan and Zooey, it was love at first sight. \u201cAs soon as we pulled into the driveway, we knew this house was special,\u201d says Zooey. \u201cIt was a beautiful home with a lot of history,\u201d adds Jonathan. The two first viewed the five-bedroom Georgian revival in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles in the spring of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Built in 1938 by acclaimed architect Gerard Colcord, the home had a traditional sensibility<\/a> that appealed to the pair of old-home lovers. The exterior, with its white wooden siding, contrasting dark shutters, and porch columns, led to an expansive lawn<\/a> that was dotted with sycamore trees and a rose garden that was planted 60 years ago. \u201cWhen we brought the kids here, they asked, \u2018Are we living in a park?\u2019 \u201d Jonathan says. So that summer, when he and Zooey closed on the property, they dubbed it the Park House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne of my favorite things is coming home to Zooey playing music,\u201d Jonathan says. She had never owned a grand piano until recently, when Jonathan got her one as a gift to christen the new house.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
